Day Trip To The Rock Church of Adadi Mariam and Steles of Tiya
Day Trip to Adadi Mariam Rock Church and Steles of Tiya
This is a day trip from Addis Ababa to visit the rock hewn church of Adadi Mariam which was carved out of a single piece of rock in the 13th Century AD, and the steles of Tiya (UNESCO World Heritage Site). These steles are huge blocks of stones erected in memory of important local people in the 14th Century AD.
During this trip visitors will enjoy great scenery of the Ethiopian part of the Great East African Rift Valley, and experiencing the life of the countryside people of Ethiopia by visiting a local family of the Oromo tribe and having a typical Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony.
This trip is ideal for first time visitors and for the once who get out of the busy Addis Ababa city life.
